Q. What if it rains?
A. For our boat rentals, unless there is thunder and lightning, your reservation still stands.
For parasailing, if there is a little sprinkle, your reservation still stands. We also have to factor in the wind speed and other environmental factors. Based on multiple weather related factors, we may go on stand-by or close down. If we do need to cancel your flight, you may choose to be refunded or reschedule your flight for when we think the sun will be out again.
Q. Do you offer gift certificates?
A. Yes, we offer gift cards in any denomination and can be used for anything in our Ships' Store as well as for rentals and parasailing.
Q. Is parasailing scary?
A. Not at all! It's very calming and peaceful. Our experienced crew gets you in the air and back on the boat as smoothly as possible so you don't have to worry about a thing. Watch our video of a Parasailing Ride.
Q. Is parasailing safe?
A. Your safety is our number one priority! With our trained crews aboard, they will make you feel at ease as you fly among the birds. We analyze every aspect of your trip from the wind speeds and weather to each piece of equipment we use before we send you up!
Q. Can I be guaranteed to go up with my loved one as a tandem?
A. There are no guarantees. All flights are dependent on weight load and wind speed. If it is deemed safe by the captain, then you are encouraged to go up with your loved one.
Q. How does parasailing work?
A. After getting outfitted with a life vest and harness, you're seated on the flight deck of the boat. Once seated, the mate clips your harness to the parachute. Then you go up real nice and smooth, just like sitting on a swing set that slowly elevates you for the experience of a lifetime. All take offs and landings are done straight from the boat so you can stay dry if you prefer. Watch the Video!
Q. How long does the excursion take?
A. Since the experience will be part parasailing and part boat ride, you should plan to be out on Lake Wallenpaupack for about an hour and a half.
Q. Do I need prior experience?
A. No prior experience is necessary!! This is a great opportunity for beginners and seasoned vets alike!
Q. Do I have to get wet?
A. No, you do not have to get wet. You can opt for your feet to be dipped in the water towards the end of your flight before landing safely on the back of the boat.
Q. Can I go if I am pregnant?
A. For your safety, we do no allow pregnant women to go parasailing or on the boat. But we would love for you to come back and join us after the baby arrives!
Q. Can I go if I have suffered spinal, back, or neck injuries in the past?
A. The boat ride can get a little rough so we ask that if you have suffered from any form of these injuries, we ask that you refrain from going parasailing or on the boat.
Q. How old do I need to be to fly?
A. Anyone ages 5 and up can fly. Guests under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian with them and must sign a consent form. Children under the age of 12 must have someone over the age of 18 fly with them.
Q. Can a minor go up by themselves?
A. Anyone under the age of 18 must have a parents and guardian with them and must sign a consent form. Anyone 12 and over may ride by themselves depending on weight load.
Q. How much does parasailing cost?
A. It is $70 per person.
Q. What form of payment do you accept?
A. We accept cash or credit in the forms of Visa, Mastercard, Discover, or American Express.
Q. What the days and times the boat departs?
A. Parasailing is available Monday through Friday ONLY.
Q. Is it customary to tip the crew?
A. Just like others in the service industry, the crew works very hard to make sure all your needs aboard the boat are taken care of. It is customary to show them your appreciation by tipping 20%.
Q. What if I want to do something special with my family and friends for a birthday, anniversary, or wedding party or just want the boat all to ourselves?
A. You can book the hour and a half ride for up to 6 guests.
